Memories from Bohol, Philippines: Blood Compact
Blood Compact is a “Treaty of Friendship” between the brown and white races. A native Boholano chieftain Datu Sikatuna forged a Blood Compact with the reprentative of Spain Don Miguel Lopez de Legazpi on March 16, 1565. Both collected a few drops from their arms, mixed them with wine, and drank the mixture; for the purpose of fostering friendly relations between the two countries.
